A major decision. Your questions, heard.

Knee Surgery Second Opinion in Mumbai

A knee operation has been advised. You want another specialist to review the recommendation, understand the options and help you ask what the operation could mean for everyday life.

Before you bring the patient, we help you bring the case to the doctor of your choice.

Start with what matters

What do you want another doctor to review?

Knee surgery does not always mean knee replacement. A recommendation may concern a meniscus, a ligament or a joint replacement. We organise the original recommendation and your history so the consultation addresses the operation actually proposed.

Your case may centre on

  • The exact operation recommended and why it has been suggested
  • Pain, walking limitations and the response to previous treatment
  • Questions about recovery, rehabilitation and returning to daily activities

Prepared before the visit

Questions for your chosen specialist

Pick the questions that matter to your family. We take them in your own words and record the answers shared during the consultation.

  • What findings support the need for this particular operation?
  • Which knee and which structure are involved in the recommendation?
  • What non-surgical or other surgical options should we discuss for this case?
  • What improvement is realistic for pain, walking and everyday activities?
  • What risks or limitations matter given the patient’s other conditions?
  • How does the timing affect the decision, and what follow-up would be needed near home?

One organised case

Records to bring together

We arrange the history and reports by date, note gaps and conflicting details, and separate the family’s account from information documented by the treating team.

Share the records you already have. This is a preparation checklist, not a request to get new tests.

  • The written surgical recommendation, including which knee and the proposed procedure
  • Existing X-ray or MRI reports and available images
  • Consultation notes and records of earlier knee injuries or operations
  • Details of medicines, physiotherapy or injections already tried and the reported response
  • A short account of walking distance, stairs and other activities affected, plus current prescriptions

Doctor-issued documents

We share prescriptions, written recommendations and other documents provided during the consultation. The documents available depend on what the doctor issues.

Redwood’s consultation notes

Our notes identify the questions raised, the advice recorded and any follow-up instructions shared. They are labelled as Redwood’s account of the discussion, not a new medical opinion.

Outstanding questions

We identify points the doctor could not answer from the available information and any next steps advised, including whether an examination is needed.

Before you enquire

Your questions, answered

Is a knee-surgery second opinion the same as a knee-replacement second opinion?

Knee replacement is one type of knee operation. This overview also helps you organise questions about meniscus or ligament surgery. Choose the relevant procedure page below for a more specific checklist.

Can you help when the patient is in another city?

Yes. We prepare the case with the patient or authorised family contact and visit the chosen Mumbai specialist with the records. The specialist decides whether an examination or further information is needed.

Do I choose the doctor?

Yes. You choose the doctor you want to consult. Redwood does not recommend, rank or select doctors. You can contact us to understand the service before you have all your documents ready.

What if the doctor needs to examine the patient?

The doctor decides whether records are sufficient or an examination is needed. We share that advice so you can discuss the next arrangements with your family and treating team.

How soon can the consultation happen?

We respond to enquiries within 12 hours. This is our response commitment, not a promise of an appointment or medical opinion within 12 hours. Appointment timing depends on the chosen doctor’s schedule.

Who receives the records and consultation notes?

We prepare the case with the patient or authorised family contact and share updates with approved contacts. Our privacy notice explains how we handle personal information.
