Reviewing a proposed procedure with your chosen doctor

Glaucoma Surgery
second opinion in Mumbai.

Medical term: Trabeculectomy, drainage implants and glaucoma procedures

Already chosen your glaucoma specialist in Mumbai or Navi Mumbai to review your proposed glaucoma surgery? When you cannot attend yourself, Redwood organises your existing records and questions, takes the case to that doctor and shares their recommendations.

You choose the doctor. We take your case to them.

Understand the procedure

What is glaucoma surgery?

Glaucoma procedures aim to lower eye pressure to help protect remaining vision. They do not restore vision already lost to glaucoma. Laser treatment, filtering surgery and drainage implants are different options chosen according to the disease and previous treatment.

This is general procedure information. Your chosen doctor assesses what applies to you.

Understand the proposed plan

What the operation may involve

Pressure-lowering approaches

The plan may improve fluid drainage or create a new drainage route. The particular laser or operation should be named in the recommendation.

Disease severity

Eye pressure is considered alongside visual fields, optic-nerve findings and the rate of change.

Aftercare

Drops, pressure checks and sometimes further procedures are needed after glaucoma surgery. Follow-up access matters.

Your decision, your questions

Questions for your chosen doctor

Choose the questions that matter to your situation. We record them in your own words and take them to the consultation.

Your existing case file

Records to organise

We organise the eye-pressure measurements over time alongside your treatment history and the written procedure recommendation. We note what you want the glaucoma specialist to clarify and keep the original reports available for the consultation.

Share the records you already have. This is a document checklist, not a request for new tests.

Bring together what is available

  • Eye-pressure measurements over time
  • Visual-field tests and optic-nerve OCT reports
  • Current and previous glaucoma drops, including side effects
  • Previous laser, cataract or glaucoma procedure records
  • Your written procedure recommendation, current prescriptions and allergy details

When you cannot attend yourself

How Redwood takes your case to your doctor

  1. Tell us whom you have chosen. Share the doctor’s name, hospital or clinic, and the decision you want reviewed.
  2. Prepare the case with us. We organise your existing records, treatment timeline and questions, then coordinate the appointment.
  3. We attend with your case. Your Care Steward takes the organised glaucoma surgery case file to the glaucoma specialist you selected and puts forward your recorded questions. After the consultation, we share the doctor's recommendations and consultation documents with you.

A video call during the consultation can be arranged if the doctor allows.

We respond within 12 hours of your enquiry.
