Reviewing a proposed procedure with your chosen doctor

Bile Duct Stone Removal (ERCP)
second opinion in Mumbai.

Medical term: Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography

Already chosen your gastroenterologist in Mumbai or Navi Mumbai to review your proposed bile duct stone removal (ercp)? When you cannot attend yourself, Redwood organises your existing records and questions, takes the case to that doctor and shares their recommendations.

You choose the doctor. We take your case to them.

Understand the procedure

What is bile duct stone removal (ercp)?

ERCP uses a flexible scope passed through the mouth and X-ray guidance to reach the bile duct opening. It can remove bile duct stones or help bile drain. It does not remove the gallbladder.

This is general procedure information. Your chosen doctor assesses what applies to you.

Understand the proposed plan

What the operation may involve

Access and stone removal

The doctor may widen the duct opening and use instruments to retrieve stones. Large or difficult stones may need additional treatment.

Temporary drainage

A stent may be placed when needed. A temporary stent usually needs a clear removal or exchange plan.

Related gallbladder care

If stones also remain in the gallbladder, its management is a separate decision to discuss with the treating team.

Your decision, your questions

Questions for your chosen doctor

Choose the questions that matter to your situation. We record them in your own words and take them to the consultation.

Your existing case file

Records to organise

We organise the ultrasound, mrcp or other completed bile duct imaging alongside your treatment history and the written procedure recommendation. We note what you want the gastroenterologist to clarify and keep the original reports available for the consultation.

Share the records you already have. This is a document checklist, not a request for new tests.

Bring together what is available

  • Ultrasound, MRCP or other completed bile duct imaging
  • Available liver-function and infection-related blood results
  • Previous ERCP, bile duct stent or gallbladder surgery records
  • Current medicines, allergies and history of pancreatitis
  • Your written procedure recommendation, current prescriptions and allergy details

When you cannot attend yourself

How Redwood takes your case to your doctor

  1. Tell us whom you have chosen. Share the doctor’s name, hospital or clinic, and the decision you want reviewed.
  2. Prepare the case with us. We organise your existing records, treatment timeline and questions, then coordinate the appointment.
  3. We attend with your case. Your Care Steward takes the organised bile duct stone removal (ercp) case file to the gastroenterologist you selected and puts forward your recorded questions. After the consultation, we share the doctor's recommendations and consultation documents with you.

A video call during the consultation can be arranged if the doctor allows.

We respond within 12 hours of your enquiry.
